If Your Eyebrows Are Ruined, They Can Still Be Repaired

If Your Eyebrows Are Ruined, They Can Still Be Repaired

Unfortunately, this happens more often than you think. I regularly receive messages from people who have undergone treatment somewhere and regret it afterwards. Often there are playful actions on social media that are promoted by starting pmu artists. Unfortunately, it is not possible to correct your eyebrows immediately after the treatment. You will first have to wait 6 weeks for the first treatment to recover.

Option 1: Cover up

Often the first treatment can still be corrected. For example, you could switch from microblading to powder brows treatment. This depends on which shape is already on it. The eyebrows can be made somewhat symmetrical or possibly a little thicker. It is also possible to do a color correction.

Option 2: Laser removal

When recovery is no longer possible, you can choose to have the pmu treatment removed. This is done with a laser and often requires 1-3 treatments. This depends on how deep the pmu is placed, the ink and sensitivity of your skin.

Good preparation is half the battle

Good preparation is half the job. This also applies when you go for a semi-permanent make-up treatment. The process can be described in 3 phases. The first phase is the preparation phase. There are a number of actions you can take to ensure that the treatment offers the best outcome.

  • Do not sunbathe two weeks before the treatment and avoid the sunbed

  • It is not recommended to use face peels two weeks before the treatment

  • If you want to paint the eyebrows, you can do that up to 1 week before the treatment

  • Do not use products that thin the blood 24 hours before the treatment. Think of: drugs, alcohol, caffeine, etc. This is because it affects the blood circulation and you will bleed more heavily during the treatment. As a result, the pigment will be less absorbed into the skin.

Pmu eyebrows healing takes about 6 weeks

Due to the pmu treatment, the ink has to be processed into your skin. The entire process takes about 6 weeks. During the first two weeks, scabs can form that make your eyebrows look a bit crazy. You may not remove these scabs and must heal in a natural way.
This can be quite annoying because you can't cover the eyebrows with makeup or get it wet. After these two weeks, your eyebrows may change color. Keep this in mind and plan your treatment ahead of important events.

Different inks

Despite the fact that PMU treatments are becoming increasingly popular, they have been around for a long time. It is true that new techniques have been added, such as powder brows. Another big change is the use of new inks. The old ink contained substances of heavy metals. This ensured that the eyebrows did not fade over time, but changed color (red or blue). Fortunately, this no longer applies if the pmu artist works with the right ink.
